Telemarketing Executive / Appointment Setting

Job purpose

We are looking for an experienced Appointment-Setter / Telemarketer to support us in generating exciting new sales leads. This is a B2B role and you will be responsible for targeting specific job functions within businesses and other sectors (such as charities and education establishments).

You will largely support the Sales function by generating sales meetings and getting prospective clients to our events – though your talents may occasionally be called upon to support us in following up a variety of Sales and Marketing activities.

You will need to have excellent telephone skills, be a team player, be organised and have great initiative. Importantly, you will be able to deal sensitively but persuasively with busy professionals and be focused on working towards company targets.

The role ideally would be based in our Halifax office, but we may look at a hybrid role. We may also consider part time hours for the right person.

Office based / Hybrid role:

44 weeks per annum (or flexible for term time if preferred)



Core elements of the role


  • Generate qualified sales appointments for the Sales team, through cold calling and through following up marketing-generated leads

  • Work with Sales and Marketing to ensure campaigns are fully supported and warm leads are well nurtured

  • Manage your cold calling schedule, to include researching, identifying, calling and following up prospects

  • Use clear processes to govern your calling activities

  • Work with the Head of Sales to continually improve sales scripts and processes

  • Follow up prospects and leads generated through our marketing activity - such as email campaigns, LinkedIn, Google Ads, web enquiries, telephone enquiries, webinars and events

  • Maintain clear call records and use the CRM fully to schedule, organise and log calls

Key Requirements


Skills/experience required as part of this role:


  • Experience in telemarketing / appointment setting

  • Proactive, confident, and fantastic on the phone

  • A 'people person' with a friendly manner, able to engage and communicate well

  • A team player with the ability to work on your own initiative

  • IT confident - comfortable with using CRM system, Outlook (for email and appointment scheduling) and other applications

  • Competent LinkedIn user (desirable)

  • High levels of organisation, thorough and meticulous about maintaining call records, following up opportunities and updating the CRM system

  • Comfortable with targets
