A year 9 lesson on ionising radiation, themed around the 1986 Chernobyl disaster.
The nearest town to the Chernobyl disaster was Pripyat.
When the reactor at the nuclear power plant melted down, it released enormous amounts of alpha, beta and gamma radiation into the environment. Overnight the town was completely abandoned as people fled from the radiation and it still stands in ruins today.
