Setting out the foundation for communication on social media.

Social media has changed the way that businesses function and individuals live their lives; everyday we communicate both on a personal and professional level, which offers a powerful way of communicating with our customers, our colleagues and the general public.

Frog recognises that these interactions can help strengthen our relationships and also support understanding. To ensure that the interactions are positive and outcomes are beneficial we have put together a series of guidance, principles and instructions that should be adhered to when using social media to represent the company.

 

Social Media Conduct.

All social posts must adhere to the following criteria:
 

  • Always be kind.
     
  • Promote positivity.
     
  • Do not tolerate any negative behaviour
    • Conflicts are dealt with in private, acknowledgements can be made public if necessary. Consult with the Senior Management Team in these cases.
       
  • Do not share any private information that relates to…
    • An employee
    • A customer
    • A third party
       

Competitors

  • Do not engage with competitors in an inappropriate way.
  • Do not engage with negative coverage or comments.
     

Legal Matters

  • Do not comment on any legal matters pertaining to the company.
  • Do not comment on any legal matters pertaining to another company or individual.
     

Opinions

  • Please ensure that posts are in line with the company standpoint and not an opinion or view of an individual.
     

Fact checking

  • Before publishing check sources and accuracy of your information.

 

Account tagging.

When social posts tag a user (e.g. including @lucyatfrog in a Twitter post) as part of the post’s content please consider the following:

Personal accounts

  • If a personal account of an employee is tagged, please ensure that…
    • The individual is aware that the account is being referenced and has given permission.
    • That the content of the referenced account is acceptable, and/or clearly states that it is a personal account.
       
  • If a personal account is tagged of a third-party (e.g. social-media influencer / consultant), please ensure that…
    • That the content of the referenced account is acceptable, and/or clearly states that it is a personal account.

Due to legal implications please ensure that images used on social media have either:
