What is a group?
A group is a collection of users. The Frog system has many different types of group:
- Years
- Classes
- Clubs
- House
- Registration
If your system is setup with MIS integration, the Frog platform will be automatically populated with all your year, class and registration groups. It is possible to manually create groups via the groups and policies app.
A user can be a member of many groups. E.g. a member of the Year 1 year group and a member of the Class 1a class group.
When you are running a report, and searching for a group, you can search for any group on the system. That includes both the groups you have manually created and the imported groups.
The same logic also applies to progression charts. Charts are created by selecting a group. If a user is a member of multiple groups, they will appear in multiple charts. Because assessments and evidence are aligned to the user (not the group), any assessment made or piece of evidence is captured against that user, they will be visible in all the charts where the user appears.
